sorry ive been gone so long. so much has happened. just had so many ups and downs. going through a bit of a shitty time, like an anti-climax.
and i just havent had time for music which is making everything way harder. but now the music i listen to is so random, like right now im listening to god and satan by biffy clyro. its depressingly beautiful.
ive got into some really wierd music this summer, stuff that i would never normally dream of listening to. im currently obsessed with hold yuh by gyptian ft. nicki minaj. nicki minaj is just so cool! shes like the best rapper around at the moment, i just love her.
ive been busy doing homework and overthinking everything. at least things are getting a bit more interesting but i feel like everythings happening too slowly, i want to lose control and fuck everything up.
anyway life is just hard. i dont really have time to blog anymore so i think basically i'll try and blog every now and then but we'll just see how it goes.

so ive been gone from the blogging world for a bit. theres just been so much happening. i feel like ive changed so much and so have my friends. we're just different people than we were at the beginning of this holiday. its like we've suddenly grown up and are doing the stuff we used to sit around chatting about.

anyway enough about my wierd life! music! this (above) is the music video for love the way you lie and im just in love with the song and really in love with megan fox! i just think shes so gorgeous and the exact look i try and look like but it never quite works out! eminem is my life and its just amazing having his music on the radio all the time.

these are my two favourite youtube videos that people have made. that clana video i used to watch obsessivly and the greys anatomy video made me cry the first time i saw it! greys anatomy is just so emotional! everyones got a broken heart, and theres always someone dying! i cant buy that box set coz i'll just end up as an emotional wreck!
anyway im in france still but i'll be back on tuesday... so music:

theres so much great music around. this summer has been great for music. currently im listening to a great playlist made up of band of horses-factory, broken bells-the ghost inside and we used to wait by arcade fire (title lyric from arcade fire song).

other amazing music ive been listening to is drakes newish song find your love. just a lovely summery song. and also been singing my friend smithsters favourite song, billionaire by travie mccoy. its got great lyrics and is just so much fun to sing along to! also loving everything everythings new single my keys your boyfriend. its very indie but very good! got a really addictive chorus but its totally impossible to sing along to! youll see if you listen to it!

there are so many amazing collaborations at the moment. the top 5 in the chart update on wednesday was all collaborations!

airplanes by b.o.b ft. hayley williams. i am still totally addicted to this song. its just amazing, good emo pop.
love the way you lie by eminem ft. rihanna (title lyrics from this). this song is so addictive! when i first heard they did a collaboration i thought eminem would have done a calmer song, a bit less controversial but no this song is literally about abuse! its a bit wierd after the whole chris brown thing but anyway its such a beautiful song.
bang bang bang by mark ronson and the business. this song just gets in your head. im singing it now! its good quirky, fun pop! the perfect summer tune.
we no speak americano by yolanda be cool and DCUP. who would call themselves DCUP but anyway i love this song. its a really grower but such a great dance tune. just loving it and its nice to hear a bit of spanish!
just be good to green by professor green and lily allen. this song is probably one of my favourite collaborations this year. just love the contrast of their voices. its beautiful yet fun and an exciting song.

so that was the top 5 on wednesday. hopefully it will stay like that coz its been a long time since the top 5 looked this good. last summer there wasnt such great music around but it seems this summer is gonna be a summer of amazing music!

i didnt really hear much of the coverage coz i actually went to wales this weekend! i went with one of my best friends and a friends babysitting job who we've all become really friendly with. shes 22 but has three kids and just got a divorce and when she was going through the divorce she became really good friends with one of my friends. anyway it was sort of a last minute thing but we went to this caravan on this farm in north wales in the middle of nowhere and just had a lovely time.. really relaxing and peaceful.

but im back for about a week and a bit coz im off to france really soon! im so excited about france!

so back to t in the park: the only performance ive watched is eminems performance which was epic. i swear i was nearly in tears. im so obsessed with eminem its not even funny!

anyway im off to afflecks palace with a few friends today and im just generally spending my holidays on the internet or watching films (i watched the ugly truth last night which was amazing! i now have a new crush on gerald butler and hes scottish! you know how much i love scottish accents!) x

dont you just love hayley williams?! i just love the girl. paramore's new single careful is great. i could listen to paramore all day. anyway these pictures are all about airplane coz im just obsessed with that song as well as the jay z remix of xxxo by MIA.

so a bit of new music:

monarchy-love get out of my way. ive loved monarchy for a long time now and this song is just great. quite indie and fun.
pulled apart by horses. i love this band coz they just scream but in a weird way its very therapeutic! this summer im really into dance music but i think this winter i might start getting into rock. its a genre that ive only really scrapped the surface of.
middle east- the darkest side. cant remember how this song goes. i just remember that its very indie and just gorgeous. im so crap at research!
broken bells-the ghost inside. cant really descibe it. just amazing! very indie and just this great laidback sound.

and that is a very random mix of stuff but i think monarchy is a one to watch although my predictions are normally wrong! however i did say holland were gonna win uraguay and they did! cant wait to the world cup final! x (title lyrics by eminem from airplane. how great is the concept of rap olympics?! do they actually exist? i hope they do!)

so im back from prague! had such a great time! its really the last time i was with my whole class like forever now coz next year im gonna be in a new school, a whole new class... anyway just had so much fun running around the hotel at 3am and touring around getting a great tan! went to some really beautiful places and just saw so many other tour groups. lots of fit guys!

anyway back to music. i havent really been listening to music for the past few days coz i dont have a ipod (i hate having earphones in my ears and not being able to hear whats going on around me) and there was no radio in the hotel but as soon as i came back i straight away turned on my radio! i came back at like 1am and i never normally listen to radio at that sort of time but there was some great stuff on. just some genius remixes of great songs. so this morning on the radio, the presenter was like 'and next up some eminem an the killers.' i was so excited coz eminem and the killers and probably my two favourite artists so heard not afraid by eminem and when you were young by the killers. later on they played when the sun goes down by arctic monkeys (title lyrics from there). i used to be obsessed with that song and id forgotten how good it is.

so have a great weekend. im gonna be doing lots of shopping this weekend for france! primark here i come! x

just had a weekend of singing along to eminem.. his new album recovery has come out and i havent had the time to go and buy it but im listening to it on we7. its epic!

sorry i havent been around. its just been crazy with exams but ive finished today! i should feel relieved but i just feel tired! im not really into films and tv programs but i have my programs that i have to watch. anyway one tree hill season 7 has started and i wanna watch it but i havent watched season 6 so i ordered it last week and it just came today so its perfect timing. cant wait to get really obsessed with it! cant believe glee is over. im still in mourning.
anyway onto more interesting topics, music! im just loving so much stuff at the moment so heres a short list of what to check out btw theyre all dance stuff. im so into dance music but the more underground stuff. so here goes:

skepta-rescue me. i love the sound of this. reminds me a bit of chase and status but a bit more dubstep and deep
magnetic man-i need air. anyway its a great song by magnetic man which is a new supergroup made up of skream, benga and artwork. all massive DJs in their own right, this song doesnt disappoint.
fake blood-i think i like it. wow this is just an amazing song. i loved fake blood's remix of animal by miike snow so i was really intrigued to hear this and its just a great song.

maybe its the summer thats making me fall in love with dance music. or maybe its finishing school! you know im going to france in like (nearly) exactly a month. me and three friends are going on the 22 july! its very exciting! i need some new clothes though. i might go shopping tomorrow if i dont get too addicted to one tree hill. okay im going back to my one tree hill now... x (photos from random places and title lyrics from ellie goulding)

these are some pictures i was thinking of having as blog title pictures but they didnt look quite right. i love the MGMT picture i have now. its so pretty. anyway the first picture is of coco sumner, the second is of florence and the third is of ellie goulding. im still so obsessed with guns and horses by ellie goulding except now i actually know all the words so i can properly sing along! also learnt a lot of the words to not afraid by eminem. just heard that song about half an hour ago on the radio. what an epic song. i just love eminem!

got a history exam tomorrow and im finishing my exams next monday so just a week to go! its so exciting!

i feel like ive posted these pics before but i dont remember! well anyway i love them so i dont care! theyre from ashlea chavez.

im currently in love with coco sumner. she records under the name i blame coco and she just has this gorgeous voice. youll probably like her if you like husky voices. like a mix between adele and pink! her latest single self machine is just gorgeous. it is a grower but still amazing on the first listen and it just sticks in your head. amazing..

also i havent talked about MGMTs new stuff. i loved their old stuff a lot and when i heard their new stuff i was a bit dissapointed but it turned out that their song its working is a real grower. their new stuff is such a radical change so it took a bit of getting used to but i just love it now.

anyway on to non music related stuff.. we had a really fun party for a friend. with the exams we've not really had the chance to just hang out but we did yesterday and it was just great to be immature and stupid! now i have rude pictures drawn on my arms so i cant roll up sleeves for a few days! its gonna be wierd next year coz we're all doing different things. not seeing all my friends on a daily basis will be very strange.

okay a few random things to talk about. is it wierd to write lyrics that you dont agree with like this title lyric. i like it as a title lyric but im not sure if its true..

i try not to write lyrics coz i cant write happy things so i end up writing and getting really depressed! im having a bit of deja vu at the moment. writing again like i used to. it was really watching this interview with eminem that got me writing again. he was talking about where he gets inspiration from and something in me clicked (not literally) and i just wanted to write.

also having deja vu about the music im listening to. i was just listening to some stuff from the killers fourth album with was really my summer album last year and changing my blog title picture. i havent done that since last summer!

now its the summer again, everyone seems to be in a relationship! me and a friend went the park on thursday and every fit guy had his arm around a girl! i was on tasty threads blog and she had a picture of alex and alexa and it made me realise that you never see pictures of them together. they havent broken up have they? i find alexa very annoying but i love her hair and as you know im a massive arctic monkeys fan!

i dunno if i ever talked about it on my blog but i have this obsession with tall guys. just the taller the better! last night i was trying to remember when it started and i realised it was from this music video someone made on youtube. its clips from smallville with the song look after you by the fray (title lyrics are from this song). i just loved how massive clark was compared to lana. they just looked so adorable together and so my tall guy obsession began!

im going a bit crazy coz i never realised how much history i have to learn so i might not be blogging too much. i know this week is gonna be crazy full of exams for a lot of people so good luck! soon it will be all be over! x

this photography by samuel bradley seems fitting coz yesterday i was at the beach! no i didnt just hop on a plane to spain (that rhymes!). i ended up going to blackpool with a load of 14 year olds (very long story how that came about) and because of some breathing problems, i didnt want to go on the big rides so i just went on the carousel and then went with two other people who hate big rides to the beach and we just walked along the beach for a good hour or two. it was so relaxing but also really tiring.
so a bit about music.. guess whos performing live on radio 1 on friday??!! EMINEM!!! i cant wait! hes so good live and i cant get enough of his single not afraid. cant wait to see what the next single is and just cant wait for the album!

there seems to be a lot of new music around at the moment and some of my favourites are:

bang bang bang by mark ronson. this song is so addictive. its got a great catchy tune and is just very pretty and summery although its still sort of a dance record. does that makes sense?! (no)
xxxo by MIA. this song is also incredibly addictive. the chorus is basically her saying xxxo over and over.. it shouldnt work but somehow it does!
the best of times by sage francis. this song is all about the lyrics. just listen to this with your ear next to the speaker. listen to the lyrics, theyre genius! (its all about growing up and basically how being a teenager is shit)
kele from bloc party is doing some solo stuff and his first single is tenderoni. its a great dance song and is like bloc partys stuff but a bit more tuneful

i love these pics. that first one is just magical.

i currently have some big music obsessions. eminems new song not afraid is just amazing. its really tuneful but still the old eminem with his heartbreaking lyrics. its quite a beautiful song.

another amazing song is ellie gouldings new single guns and horses. its quite slow and her voice just sounds amazing. its about wanting to take her boyfriends pain for him (but i wish i could feel it all for you) another really tuneful song

and to keep in with the slow, beautiful, tuneful music theme, im also obsessed with paolo nutini. his song candy is amazing and my lovely friend bought me the album which i adore. its perfect for a long car journey, just a good slow album but it doesnt put you to sleep! it made me crave a cup of tea if that helps explain it!

im now on study leave and im finding that florence is actually the best music to work with. im not sure why but shes just perfect to listen to while doing my chemistry!

wow these pics from federico erra really dont reflect my mood. theyre really beautiful moody pics and i love them! so lets talk music since we havent in ages!
the title lyrics are from darwin deez (what a cute name!) who just makes some really cool music. hes like the indie version of jason mraz. he just makes some really cute, fun music. really summery and pretty.
also loving the pretty reckless which is a newish band with jenny from gossip girl (i cant remember her real name now!) their music is just good addictive pop but it has a bit of an edge. i like it!

wow this a great load of music pics. the first is of the killers on stage, the next is some guy on guitar at coachella. ive no idea who he is but i just like the picture. the third picture is of florence, isnt it gorgeous?! and the last is of bombay bicycle club. how cute is it?! i had a dream about bombay bicycle club that one of them was serving me at a fish shop and i told them that i really liked their music!

anyway i was just watching 90210 and a regina specktor song came on. id really fogotten about her. she has such a stunning voice. so the title lyrics are from her song laughing with which is such a beautiful song. i love how pure and simple her voice in. we were just talking about different types of voices in physics today coz we were learning about sound waves and stuff... anyway im getting off the point here (as usual!)

so thanks to fashion tidbits for this award. isnt it pretty?! anyway i have to write 7 things about myself so im gonna try and make it stuff you might not know about me:

i am really loud. i have a really load laugh, a very load voice and i scream a lot. im normally the loudest girl in the class and the one who comes up with the immature jokes. yep thats me!
i have two cataracts. although youve probably never seen a picture of me you dont anyway notice them until i point them out. i was born with them and i have to go to the eye hospital every now and then to check out that theyre not blinding me but otherwise im totally normal (well not quite normal but i have normal eyes)
friday is my favourite day of the week. another thing you dont know about me is my timetable for school. friday is the best day lessons wise but also coz its the last day of the week
another school related random fact-i love IT lessons best. theres nothing i like more than sitting in front of a computer. typing is just so relaxing, maybe thats why i blog!
okay some proper info about me. im 16, i have one brother, one sister and two parent (haha) who are divorced (not so haha!) im totally not bothered or emotionally scarred from my parents getting divorced. i still believe in soulmates and all that.
i love lists. i think you might know that already but i love the neatness of them. how everything falls into place. i am sort of freakishly neat about somethings such as my folders on the computer (i have a folder for EVERYTHING!) but i can be really really messy about other things such as my locker in school. it just is never neat however hard i try!
im a talking sort of person. i have a theory that everyone is better at either talking or writing. some people write amazingly and really properly express themselves through the written language while i talk way better. maybe its just coz i like the sound of my own voice!

so that is 7 (very long) points. i want to pass this award on to j-face because he managed to write a whole 100 facts about himself while i found it hard to write 7. check out the post here.

so the story is: a girl waiting to be discovered (i just want you to know who i am-iris by the goo goo dolls) then she meets someone and its love at first site (coz maybe youre gonna be the one that saves me-wonderwall by oasis) and its all amazing with her boyfriend even writing a song for her (look at the stars, look how they shine for you.. i wrote a song for you and all the things you do-yellow by coldplay) then she walks in on him cheating on her (who's this woman in my bed.. get the hell off of my baby-ouch by N-DUBZ). she cant take the lies that hes telling her, the stories he's making up (if youve got no kind words you should say nothing more at all-no kind words by the maccabees) she tells him its over and he straight away starts dating the girl he cheated on her with (when i see you walking with her i have to cover my eyes-cover my eyes by la roux) and everytime he's with his new girlfriend he ignores her (you grace me with your cold shoulder, whenever you look at me i wish i was her-cold shoulder by adele) and she has her moments when she cant manage with out him (i feel so small, i think i need you baby-everytime by britney spears) and she feels like she cant go another day without him (im falling apart, im barely breathing, with a broken heart thats still beating-broken by lifehouse) but she realises what a dickhead he is and she decides to get her revenge (im gonna tell them all youre rubbish in bed now and that youre small in the game-not big by lily allen) and she realises how blinded she was by him (how come id never hear you say i just wanna be with you, i guess you never felt that way-since u been gone by kelly clarkson)

so that is the story. i wrote this playlist a few weeks ago while on holiday and its basically alot of my favourite songs put together. the only song i dont like too much is the N-DUBZ one but it fit too perfectly to miss it out. the only bit missing is a good 'ive moved on' song but i couldnt really think of any coz all songs about moving on such as not big by lily allen actually show that they havent moved on when you read the lyrics!

anyway ive been very busy lately with courseworks and exams and friends and holidays!

so on sunday i booked to go with some friends to france in july which is very exciting but its in ages! also bought a great blusher from MAC that im just in love with! its a limited edition one with libery of london. the box is just gorgeous!

so now im blabbering about blusher!

the song that seems to have been in my head all day is heartbeat by the futureheads. its just so addictive! also armour love by la roux.

i wrote this amazing playlist which hopefully ill post it soon. its like a story and just full of some great songs.

anyway im back from gibraltar so heres a list of the things that have changed about me

my age-i turned 16. yep its very exciting! now i can legally drink in gibraltar! the legal age for drinking is 16 there. how ridiculous is that?!
my eyebrows-my lovely auntie came to gibraltar who i havent seen for a year and she threaded, plucked and cut my eyebrows! they do look amazing now!
my skin colour-my friend said i got a bit of a tan! but anyway ive decided since i wont get a tan here in manchester, i am now regularly wearing tinted moisturiser and bronzer.. i look so tanned its amazing (and not orange!)
my radio listening-in gibraltar the only radio i could get there was spainish radio so yeah i really enjoyed listening to music in a different language but it was a bit strange. they also played lots of english music so it wasnt too wierd!
my writing-it seems not writing for two weeks has made me start writing like a real teenager using exclamation marks all the time!!!!!!
my phone-well this is something i hope to change. ive had my phone for a year now and im planning to go and buy a new one with all my birthday money!

hey, some beautiful photography to enjoy.. photography is weirdly inspiring...

anyway i did really bad in some modules so yesterday was quite a horrible day getting those results back but now im okay. ive realised i need to be working alot harder and thankfully i can retake all of them in june.

you know my problem with blogging is that ill discover some new music and by the time i actually write about it im just not that into it so lets talk really new music before i forget again!

i love local natives who ive actually liked for a long time but keep on forgetting to blog about but i still adore their single airplane.

also i love professor green. i heard his single about a month or two ago and i didnt really like it that much but ive really fallen in love with it! its called i need you tonight and its just a really fun song. he actually went on tour with lily allen so if you were lucky enough to see lily you would have seen him as well!

another song which ive forgotten to write about is audio bullys new single only man. it reminds me a bit of bloc party and its just a massive song. really cool. also reminds me of one life stand by hot chip, where the hell has that song gone?! i love that song!

the problem with some bands is that they have such a long annoying name that you just cant be bothered writing down to check out. ou eh la swimming pool is one of those bands. ive literally been into their music for about 6 months but today was the first day i actually googled them! they have this amazing song called dance the way i feel which i think was their last single but only now am i obsessed with it! im so slow sometimes!

hope youre all well. all my family seems to have gone down with colds but we all seem to be getting better. its nearly spring now so goodbye to colds! i just bought a really summery skirt and im feeling very summery at the moment, just refusing to wear a coat (probably the reason for my cold!) x

so here is my five favourite songs at the moment:

emilys heart- this is by jamie t and what a beautiful song! its so lazy and gorgeous.. im just in heaven when i listen to this. its very slow and its got this beautiful guitar.. i just love it. i can tell its not gonna do well in the charts but thats what i love about it. its quite simplistic but very clever

dry your eyes- i love this song by the streets. it honestly brings me near to tears which is funny considering the title!

stay too long- i love what plan b is doing at the moment and this song is just amazing. its got so much energy, so much urgency. i love that whole urgent sound like what arctic monkeys used to sound like. now theyre these celebs, their music just sounds a bit lazy. its really annoying coz there are so many artists who's first albums i love and then they come out with some new stuff and its good but nowhere near as good as their old stuff. well plan b is the exception and pink.

the pretender- obviously by the foo fighters. i love the energy of this song. its just immense!

crystalised- i think this is the new single by the xx. i bought this album and i just love it. all their songs are so slow and beautiful. the vocals are amazing.

i just received this award which is very exciting coz i think its my first award! check out her blog here. anyway i have to write about 10 things that make me happy so here goes:

music- so much music just puts a smile on my face. im normally into quite depressing stuff but my favourite upbeat artist at the moment is plan b. i just love what he's doing.
my friends- especially my friend rivka who is just off her head (in a good way)!
food- sorry its quite shallow but honestly having a piece of chocolate makes my day
radio- i find it so hard to go a day without listening to the radio. my radio is just always on and if im on the computer then i'll listen online. im just obsessed with radio 1!
beautiful photography- i love inspiring pictures. i love those pictures that just make everything look possible. its hard to explain the affect of photography, its just magical..
my weird family- my family are just mad but thats how i like it! some people have such normal, non-embarrassing families and i honestly feel bad for them!
boys- yesterday i saw the boy my friend has/had a crush on. yep he is fit!
fashion- i love dressing up in new interesting styles. yesterday i wore a top with a vest top on top with a black skirt and some grey jeans underneath and my lovely converse. im definitely repeating the outfit! it was so comfy and had this really cool casual look.
blogging- writing an amazing post is always so exciting and reading other peoples posts that are amazing.. i just love it!
comedy- i love a good stand up to watch when im feeling down. i love russell howard, he is hilarious!

currently obsessed with daniel by bat for lashes. i searched for bat for lashes on my blog and i havent ever talked about natasha. bat for lashes is basically what singer/songwriter natasha records under. her music has a sort of distant sound if that makes any sense. she reminds me a bit of the xx in the way she sings. its all quite intimate and beautiful.

oh and i watched the brit awards last week. it was such a big moment for me and my friend when florence won best british album. thats one person who really deserved her award. JLS getting two awards? WTF?

im also completely obsessed with the tinie tempah song pass out. normally i dont like r&b stuff like n-dubz but this is how the whole british urban music scene should be like. its about not taking yourself to seriously and having fun with the music and those stupid r&b singers who actually sing their lyrics like they mean something: its a joke! tinie tempah shows how urban r&b should sound like and he gets extra credits for making a reference to the hills ('heidi and audrina eat your heart out'). check it out on we7 here.

life is pretty shitty at the moment though i feel bad saying that coz after seeing what people went through in the holocaust, i mean thats real shit.

sorry you probably dont know what im on about!

i went on a history trip with my class to london and we went to the imperial war museum. it was quite a sobering experience. its like suddenly you realise that life is so easy. we watched accounts of people who went through the concentration camps, they saw their family die in front of them and they couldnt do anything. its just a scary thought.

so after watching that we then went to covent gardens and i did some serious retail therapy! shopping really is the best thing to get a smile out of me when im down!

so back to my first point. yeah life is being a bit shitty at the moment. just had some horrible mocks today and got even more tomorrow. i havent learnt for any of them! no that doesnt really deserve an exclamation mark. we had modules and then i thought id take a bit of a break from learning and now im too exhausted to learn, im gonna fail every fucking last one. i hate doing this coz its just so depressing. and today i found out my friend whos mum died last year, her dad has leukemia. its just so hard on her. so right im making a positive list:

music totally helps when you cant go shopping! currently completely obsessed with the virgins who provided the wonderful title lyrics from their song private affair.
im not failing science so at least that a start!
i can still look at beautiful pictures and get weird and wonderful fashion inspirations. everywhere i walked in london, i saw different people wearing such amazing outfits, ive got so many ideas for outfits!
i have my wonderful friends to laugh at! today my friend rivka brought a loo roll to school coz she has a cold and the teacher thought she has stolen it from the school toilets! shes a classic!
GLEE! that is the reason for my happiness. just watched an episode, they should seriously show it to people going through depression, its just amazing!
i still have chocolate. food really is the best when youre down and chocolate... its just immense

but most importantly i still have my dreams, ideas and inspirations. im actually feeling way happier after making that list! i advise anyone feeling down to make a positive list now! thanx for all your amazing blogs keeping me inspired x

can we just talk about how genius i am to find this lyric?! how well does it go with the photos?!! i was just listening to marina and the diamonds and i heard these lyrics in her beautiful song i am not a robot and theyre just perfect for the gorgeous photos.

i dont normally like male models but i do have a folder of the male models i think are just damn right beautiful and these two are just amazing. i dunno what it, maybe the tattoos or the beautiful 'broken but dont give a shit' look. does that make sense?!

other bands im loving are the virgins, the drums and this morning i heard mr brightside by the killers on the radio: it was an epic moment singing along with a hairbrush while halfway through getting dressed so i was wearing my school shirt with my pj bottoms and my hair in one big curly mess! theres something amazing about hearing a song you love on the radio even if you have the album so could listen to it at any time. its those first few notes, the big adrenaline rush, is it weird i get adrenaline rushes from the killers and not from roller coasters (i hate roller coasters with a passion)?

sorry im so bad with writing posts. i try and keep up with all your blogs but i dont really have that much time to write. i was writing my english AS coursework with my friend and just coming up with total examiners porn (explanation: writing an essay that is so beautifully written and quoting all the right quotes if i dont get a good mark for this essay HEADS WILL ROLL!) For my essay im analysing an article from Grazia which is just wonderfully written and even has a reference to Florence (yes THE Florence from florence and the machine)

im not sure where any of these pictures are from but theyre all just gorgeous. dont you love the rumpled hair of the model in the first and last picture?! i love that sort of hair on guys. a bit like michael ceras hair in juno, just a great length.

anyway i havent told you yet the amazing news that i got an a in my gcse maths! i did it in november and got my mark a couple of days ago which is very exciting!

so last night i went to the sixth form open evening in the school that i wanna go to for sixth form and it was really interesting to speak to the a level teachers so that i actually sort of understand what im gonna be doing next year! i wanna do physics, chemistry, maths and business studies leading to doing physics in uni. im already doing an AS this year so i have some idea of what its gonna be like next year but it should be interesting moving schools and a levels are very different to gcses.

anyway enough about my education! lets talk music! the title lyrics are from biffy clyro from their song many of horror (which is grammatically incorrect but never mind) . i love this song its so beautiful and the lead singer (whos name ive forgotten) has the voice of an angel. i dont mean that he sounds like dido or anything he just has a gorgeous voice. (how many times have i said gorgeous in this post?!) also im obsessed with coco who records music under the name i blame coco. she has a song called caeser which she did with robyn and its coco has such a cool voice and and robyn has such a cool voice and together... its just amazing. if your interested in some new music this year then check it out and enjoy!

this is a montage/collage (what the hell do you call it?!) from the bbc website. i think ive used all these pictures but they look really cool together.
so i thought for this post i could go through the top five of the 'bbc sound for 2010' list. so here goes!

ellie goulding-i just checked out my blog and i realised that ive never written about ellie goulding so heres a first! she won this title and i do love her music. under the sheets has really grown on me and she is the one new talent (except marina) that me and my friend agree on. i just love how soft and beautiful her music is. its like snowpatrol but softer and more dance sort of music. i guess shes more electric than snowpatrol. ellies music is really made to fit the dance genre but snowpatrol is more acoustic and about the guitars and shes about the tempo and everything. her music is a bit dubstep. and that was me trying to explain an artists sound! i really am crap at explaining just check out under the sheets!
marina and the diamonds-heres a singer i have talked about before and i just love her music. shes like a modern kate bush doing pop. what a beautiful voice and her lyrics make so much sense but they are very clever. oh i just thought of the word to describe ellie goulding- electro pop. so back to marina, i love all her songs but one of my favourites has to be i am not a robot. marina makes some great music videos so check those out on youtube. she just has lots of fun with the music videos, i love it when artists do that. i think it was cornerstone by the arctic monkeys when all you have is stupid alex turner (hes a cool guy just hate his hair) just singing to the camera for 4 mins. hate arctic monkeys for that! the killers also make amazing music videos. right back to our list..
delphic-i dont know a lot about them but doubt is just a great song. they really make such beautiful music.
hurts-i LOVE this band and i only know one of their songs but its just beautiful. i know normally the title lyrics i use are very depressing. actually i cant remember when i used a happy title lyric but this title lyric is from hurts and its just beautiful. their song, wonderful life reminds me a lot of dont give up by kate bush and peter gabriel. they are both about not giving up and staying strong. they were both also made for a time of recession when people want to just give up. i love songs which have a strong message.
the drums-ive just got completely obsessed with their song lets go surfing. maybe its to do with the snow! im getting quite fed up of the snow and someone told me its gonna carry on like this for six weeks. six fucking weeks! i hope its not true

ive been away for too long! sorry i havent been checking out all your amazing blogs but i had to move out of the house coz my brother got mumps (even though he had the vaccine) and i didnt want to get it and then my mum went to london. anyway so ive had about a week and a half away from my beloved computer!

so this is very exciting coz this is my 100th post! ive been blogging for about 7 months now! i cant believe its been that long! it feels like a few months ago and that makes me feel so old but im only 15. it reminds me of the killers lyric 'im so much older than i can take' except i feel like my age doesnt match how old i feel like the other day i was sitting there with my radio and a cup of tea and thinking this is the life and then i was like this is ridiculous! im a teenager, im supposed to be irresponsible and stupid but im just so not like that. anyway how did i get onto this?!!

i like indie quirky films. theyre just what im into. i do like other films like i watched sex and the city the other day and i loved it but indie films are just what i like best. so anyway i bought nick and noras inifinite playlist because it looked really indie and it has michael cera in who is just such an amazing actor and absolutely gorgeous. anyway, look i'll put it bluntly, it was dreadful. everything about it was dreadful i mean even a dreadful chick flick like the holiday was a better film. so let me explain why:

firstly it is set over one night. thats never a good idea with a film. the only film where it kind of worked was kidulthood but its very rare for it to work and well in this film it was their biggest mistake. because it was set over one night nothing much really happened coz how much can happen in a night? i mean look at a film like 500 days of summer, i dont want to give anything away in case you havent watched it but but that film is set over a year and a half and when harry met sally is set over like 20 years or something ridiculous like that but i love it like that. its just the way a good film needs to be set for it to work.

some of the characters are just really annoying. michael cera is amazing as usual and there are these 3 gay guys who were really cute and funny but everyone else was really really annoying and like the main female character just cant act. its really irritating. it irritates me to say this but actually all the girls in this film are bad actresses and just so boring. i guess you cant do much with a character when its only set over one night but still they were really rubbish and hurt my eyes to watch.

sorry to bring kidulthood up again its just the only other film i can think of thats also only set over a day. so yeah in kidulthood so much happens in that day. i dont want to give away the whole film but if youve watched the film youll understand (btw if you havent see it then check it out now, its so brilliantly written and really honest about what its like to be a teenager in east london) nick and noras infinite playlist was just boring. i wa waiting for something to happen in the long 90 minutes it lasted and honestly nothing happened. it was just dreadfully written.

and lastly, i was looking forward to a good soundtrack running through the film, well i was very disappointed. as well as nothing happening in the film, the soundtrack was crap as well. and that was the last straw

so anyone wanna buy it off me?!!

so rage is at no. 1!! i couldn't listen on sunday night but i was listening to the radio on monday morning and they said that rage against the machine is no. 1 and i just so excited coz i was hoping they would do it but deep down i knew joe would get it and by next year we would all forget the rage thing. well thankfully i was very wrong! killing in the name is just such an amazing song and compared to joes song, i mean joes song is just boring and doesnt even deserve to be in the top 10 but thats another story! im so excited about rage being at no. 1 im finishing every sentence with an exclamation mark! okay im stopping.

i have finally broken up from school although i am now supposed to get to some hard-core learning which is btw never gonna happen but we have been told this holiday should be treated as study leave and not a holiday. WTF?

my sister is at my dads in london so i have the computer to myself so forget hard-core learning, im gonna be doing hard-core blogging btw my form teacher did not use the actual words 'hard-core learning' shes like 60 although it would have been really funny if she would have!!

my current playlist is look after you by the fray, run by snowpatrol, i cant stay by the killers and ghosts and stuff by deadmau5. its a bit weird but it feels right for the winter. the snow just isnt stopping, it just reminds me of when we went in the winter to scotland and we would get stuck in all kinds of stuff like one day we were stuck in this snow blizzard, it was just crazy!

im waiting for the postman to resume coz i have a dvd that should be here by now but they haven't come for the past two days, its nick and noras infinite playlist and i cant wait to tell you about it when i finally get it!

i dunno whats inspiring me to use these pictures today. probably the cold. its snowing! it started on thursday and right now im looking out the window and big snowflakes are falling. theres something beautiful about snow falling but because its manchester and all good things have to come to an end, the snow will turn to slush by tomorrow or worse it will all freeze and the road will just turn into an ice rink. thats what happened last year and i was slipping and sliding to school!

i was just looking into my picture folder of musicians and i was just drawn to each of these pictures. let me explain (in numbers):

florence-i wasnt going to use a florence picture coz ive used all of them but then i saw this picture which i havent used before and its just so beautiful. i love the way florence performs. she also always paints her nails gorgeous dark shades which i get really excited about! is it weird to get excited about nails?! well kidsister (fourth picture) wrote a whole song about them so im not the only one!
eminem-i have been listening to the slim shady LP which i have to say is genius. i talked about it in the last post so if u wanna know more then scroll down!
how cute is this picture of la roux?!! shes one of the people who makes me proud to have short hair. she just looks soo cool and individual which is exactly what i want my short hair to look like but my hair is really shoulder length so its not quite the same!
kidsister-i just love her. shes just crazy and makes such great music. shes so upfront and has such great attitude. she just has so much energy, she really does remind me of pink even though her music is very different. im really having problems describing what i love about her shes just immense (i love that word!)
how great is bleached blonde hair on guys?! i dont like blond guys but bleached blonde is a whole other story. i loved eminem with his bleached hair. it just went with the whole 'dont give a fuck' attitude. mr hudsons bleached hair is a bit too neat for me. it looks like he touches it up every few weeks. i like it when it looks really in need of a touch up. sorry im so specific about these things. okay lets just forget blondes and keep to the black/brown haired boys!

my hair is looking amazing today! its just gone all curly with lots of body, it l0oks like something from a l'oreal advert!

at the moment im debating whether to buy a camera or a great pair of jeans. the camera would mean you could actually see me but a great pair of jeans would just be such a good investment. this pink concert is just immense check it out here about 2 and a half hours into the show (i dont think you can hear this if your not in the uk but im not sure)

so as you can see ive gone a bit grease crazy! me and my friend watched grease when we were like 11 and we both thought it was a disgusting film about dirty people (ive changed so much!) and really it is a disgusting film about dirty people but thats why i love it so much now! i watched it again a few months ago for the first time in ages and just totally fell in love with it and i just watched it again on saturday night and i just have such a big kunikie (how the hell do you spell his name?!) crush although i hear hes an alcoholic old man now (why do all good things come to an end?)

those songs are just constantly in my head now as well as eminems album slim shady LP which is just so genius. its 10 years old now but eminem just had so much energy and ideas and just general fucked up stories to tell. nowadays hes matured a lot which i think is a good thing for him as a person but not for his music. definitely check out the album but dont stick it on when youre mums in the room, all parents HATE eminem. he is really offensive but thats what i love about him. he isnt afraid of saying exactly what he thinks, he just gets all the shit out there. okay and now since listening the the album ive been swearing way more! btw title lyric is eminems (it cant really have been from grease could it!!)

i was reading a book questionnaire onlauras blog and i decided to adapt it to make it a music questionnaire so here goes:

i love the deadmau5 album coz its just great to have on in the background. like great chill out music. la rouxs album is just immense. her voice is just beautiful and really powerful.

i never order albums online coz its just to organized for me. i always buy albums as a sort of spur of the moment thing. theres something to do before im 16, buy an album online!

the first album ive listened to over and over:

im not sure what it was maybe snow patrol eyes open. yeah it probably was that. what a great album. thatsmy winter album. i always get really into it in the winter and then in the summer i just dont listen to it at all. i just has this snugly feel. does that make sense?!! its hard to explain a feeling but yes my review of the album: its snugly!

i think muse changed the way i listen to music so their music should pretty much be compulsory to listen to! maybe also eminem for his lyrics. its weird coz ive grown up with his music since i was like 8 or 9 ive been so into his music! i dont think i really appreciated his lyrics then, i just liked his music and his voice. even his voice though is offensive!

best place to listen to music:

i like having music on all the time but when i really want to listen to an album properly then ill curl up in bed and listen. it can always get a bit annoying listening to music with friends coz we all have such different tastes.

i was thinking about it the other day and i realised im so different to all my friends so i told one of my friends this and she was like 'rebecca no ones like you!' charming!

an album i just bought for the cover:

i never really randomly buy an album like i always only buy an album from an artist which i know loads about and really love the music so ive never bought an album for the cover but i do love the sams town cover.

hmm. im not sure about this. i like scary gothic music so it doesnt really scare me but i think bones by the killers could be quite scary . i was watching the music video with my cousin and she was like 'what the hell is this?!' i had to change it coz she just found it so weird but i love it! its one of the cleverest music videos(in my opinion!) check out my post about it here.

i think it would have to be look after you by the fray just because of the gorgeous clana music video on youtube. i you type in 'clana look after you' then youll find it. i never even knew about smallvillle until i watched that and really smallville is just crap but that video is beautiful. also sweet disposition is beautiful (by the temper trap).

all music changes my life in some way but as i mentioned before it would have to be muse.

i always like those 2nd singles that everyone else hates. artists always come out with their 1st single and im like this is crap and then i hear the second single and im like GENIUS!

this happened with spaceman by the killers and i love robbie willians second single although ive forgotten the name but i can tell everyone doesnt like it!

i think it would have to be stuff like basshunter and cascada. i just hate it! im not really big into N-DUBZ or the sort of RnB that jay sean does. i think a song has to have at least one of these things to be good:

an interesting melody
a beautiful voice singing
amazing lyrics

in my opinion muse do all three in almost any song they make but things like basshunter are just dreadful coz the lyrics are dreadful, the melody (if u could call it that) is boring as hell and basshunters voice is pretty average so i just find the music boring and mildly irritating.

can i just say that i like a lot of music. i like to listen to a massive range of music so there are actually only a small amount of artists that i really dont like because if i had to write a list of music i love it would be way way longer than the list of music i dont like!

number of albums i own:

i dunno. not as many as i would like but i never have enough money to buy albums so something like florences album i love, but i dont actually have the album i just listen to it on the internet.

must have music accessory:

that would have to be ears! and an open heart to absorb the music and let it move you and change you and teach you weird and wonderful things.

im desperate to go to glastonbury oh and i wouldnt mind going to ibiza. its like the capital of club music and im a sucker for a good remix!

at the moment im just so busy. ive got loads of coursework and the school show is in less then three weeks! i do love doing the show but its dead stressful!

did i tell you about my new leggings? i dont think i did but anyway i got these new denim leggings(i hate the term jeggings!) and they are so comfy. normally i just wear ankle socks through the winter and occasionally tights but ive decided not to freeze this winter so its in with the legging and not really out with the ankle socks coz i still wear them!

i swear ive turned more boring than my grandma! so lets talk music! (in bullet points. i think better with dots)

this band called tulips were on the radio last night and sounded really cool. i definitely need to check out some of their stuff if i have a free minute so if youre bored then check them out for me and tell me what you think!
i realised this morning that young forever by jay z is the perfect song for new moon or actually any of the films in the twilight saga. next time you hear the song just listen out for the chorus and listen to the lyrics. theyre just perfect for twilight!

i went to town today and watched new moon finally and wow! it reminded me of when i read the book, which was around the time twilight came out, and i cried so much when i was reading new moon and it was really the same with the film except not as bad! the film had more jokes in so i wasnt crying as much but it was really funny coz i was crying in exactly the same bits as i cried in the book! but me and my friend bought some chocolate so that definitely helped. and i made sure to take out my tissues before the film and i didnt wear any make up! i was well prepared!

i was reading an article in the daily telegraph and the journalist was saying that music nowadays is not about just a great voice, its about owning the song making it your own. its about putting on a performance because truth be told people dont listen to songs if they are crap but the artist has a great voice. its about having the whole package. like billy joel really had a big influence in the music world because he was really a poet with a dreadful voice but people bought (and still buy) his music because of the melodies and the lyrics. im very into lyrics so this definitely makes a lot of sense to me.

at the moment im loving sidney samson, chapel club and bombay bicycle club (i had a dream about them but thats a whole other story!)

i was planning on making this a bright, colourful post but i was just drawn to all the black and white beautiful pictures and im too tired to argue with myself!

i love paloma faith coz she just has such an incredible voice and some great lyrics. she really knows how to write a good pop song (maybe she doesnt write them). im still totally obsessed with new york even though its been around for ages!

i just got la rouxs album which is just amazing. another woman with an incredible voice. i love all her singles that shes released but its worth buying the album coz theres some more incredible songs on there. i love tigerlily and not just because of the name but what a great name for a song! she also writes some incredible lyrics like i never knew in for the kill had such amazing lyrics until i got the album and read the lyrics.

mr hudson. i still havent got over supernova but white lies, his second single is just immense and i love the song he did with jay z, young forever. obviously not as good as the original but still beautiful all thanks to mr hudsons beautiful voice!

florenece who seems to be the artist i speak most about on this blog has just done it again with youve got the love. ive been into this for a long time and live its just wow! but now shes released it and its just so good to hear on the radio and the xx remix! ive already talked about this but when im excited about something i cant shut up about it!

so lets talk sport well actually not sport but more specifically the hot guys who play it. theres something magical about watching a cute guy play a sport theyre good at! its that intense look of concentration its so damn sexy! so imagine how excited i was to find this interview with jenson button who i never even knew was fit! people are always talking about louis hamilton who btw i think is so uncute but anyway you never hear about anyone else in formula one! so check out the interview here and id love to know what you think! oh and btw isnt it so annoying that they are all so boring. its the same with andy murray they just have these deep voices that put you to sleep!

i was reading this post on a blog i love called amore fashion and she was talking about helena bonham carter and it just reminded me of how much i love her and her whole gothic look. its weird coz i have a friend who has the same look, big black hair, white nearly silver skin. she has such a great 'i dont give a shit' look but still remains a lovely person.

she really inspires me, like desperately seeking susan, to wear black lace and just let my thick black hair just go crazy! i bought a new deep purple eyeshadow from MAC and when i was choosing it i was like to my friend 'i want my eyes to look like two big bruises' and my friend was laughing and was like 'only you rebecca!' i also went into topshop and there was this gorgeous dress that was a sleeveless black lace dress and i was desperate for it but it was forty quid and i would have to wear it with a whole outfit underneath but it would really transform a purple top and skirt to wear that on top. maybe ill save up!

last night i watched airplane which is a film released in 1980 and its just hilarious in that monty python way so if you like that then definitely watch airplane!

ive currently rediscovered the streets. im listening to fit but you know it and dry your eyes. fit but dont you know it is just so funny. its just a normal guy fancying a girl in the queue for some fast food place but its just hilarious the lyrics and btw the title lyrics are from dry your eyes. really beautiful song.

ive also rediscovered rasmus and franz ferdinand so no new music today! oh actually i am loving bombay bicycle club and they are quite new.

kid sister. i dunno why im starting a post like this but what the hell. so yes, kid sister. she was on radio 1 last night and she is so hilarious. her music has so much character and shes so opinionated. its something that really gets to me, when people have no opinions. i just hate people who have nothing to say for themselves. thats why i hate people like leona lewis, she just bores me to death and i wish she would just say something controversial just to show she isnt a robot. she actually gets me really depressed coz shes just such a sad person. thats why i love people like la roux and lily allen who just say what theyre thinking. if they think some music is shit, they say its shit. really its about honesty. they arent afraid to speak their minds but leona, okay we arent talking about her anymore, im gonna scream with frustration soon about her. its like just smile girl!

did i tell you how excited i am to have rihanna back?! she makes such great music and i love russian roulette. im not really into the blonde hair thing but whatever im lovin her music now so i really dont care what shes doing with her hair!

so im back and ive got a dreadful cold and its not great going on a train when you really wanna be tucked up in bed but i went first class so it was nice and quiet with not many people around so i just read my company magazine and stared out of the window and admired the fit guy who was sitting way to far away from me so i had to stretch to look at him which didnt look very inconspicuous!

so today i was watching an interview with nelly furtado and i realised how much of a fan i am of hers. i loved (still love) im like a bird. its such a beautiful song that i think everyone can relate to. maneater was, and still is, such a massive song. everyone knows it and i remember when it came out, me and my brother were obsessed with it! then theres all good things which was written with chris martin and is such a beautiful song. and then recently she did broken strings with james morrison which i think every girl was obsessed with! its all beautiful and sad and amazing and sounds like pure heaven.

nelly furtado does have an amazing addictive voice but she is also very beautiful (me, jealous? no way!)

to go with my dreadful cold im currently listening to my pink playlist which consists of who knew, i dont believe you and sober. and its on repeat, i wish my voice sounded like that but my throat is nowhere near as sore as hers sounds! i woke up this morning from a dream in which my throat was really sore and i couldnt get any water coz i didnt have any money so as soon as i woke up i went to get a glass of water even though my throat wasnt sore! very strange!

i dont talk about them enough but the killers are really such a massive part of my life. i know every song of every album, ive loved their music for about 6 or 7 years which really is a long time to like a band when youre only a teenager. i was speaking to my friend and even though we are the top of the school, i still feel like tiny! so back to the killers, i think 'my' song from all their albums has to be bones because it just reminds me of me! i can so relate to it coz im so bony but its more than the lyrics, its the way it starts i mean that beginning still gives me an adrenaline rush! its such a distinctive song that could never be compared to any other song. its so unique and so exciting and has such character. its also dramatic and does what i always do, just break out into song! im like a musical that doesnt stop! but i only sing like a line of a song and its usually off key so not really like a musical! the music video has everyone turning into skeletons and is just one of their best music videos, check it out here. if you wanna buy one of their albums definitely buy hot fuss, their first album, coz its so fresh and beautiful and impossible to describe!

this is my favourite model anna selezneva whos done shoots for vogue and was on stockholm street style (the second picture down)! shes just got such an interesting face and body. shes all tiny and beautiful and has the most amazing arms and cheekbones. she is only 19 but has walked the catwalks of chanel, dior, YSL and valentino! discovered in 2007 in McDonald's, she was whisked off to paris and has been working non stop. shes so unique and has such an interesting look, i can always recognise her which i can not say for some models who can get quite boring and all sort of merge into one.

i find in a way i can relate to these models although im 5"5, i am a uk 6/8 and ive got quite a boyish figure with boobs that are exactly like models. half these models dont wear bras and you see their boobs and im like those are my boobs! im also quite confident and dramatic however i dont envy them coz there arent any models who come out of a modelling healthy and happy and anyway im too short to be a model.

i do think being a model is for people like anna is by mistake. if someone came up to you and said you were beautiful enough to be a model you cant really say no i wanna be a psychologist. also you have to think of the money i mean imagine how much chanel pay!

so love to know what you think of modelling careers, i just really wanna work on the radio! thanx for all wishing me luck for my exam. it wasnt easy and i still have another one on tuesday but then im done with maths (until next september for the a level)! x

pink has got one of the sexiest voices on this fucking planet! i am so jealous! its all throaty and exactly how you want your voice to sound when you have a sour throat. its hard to explain but her new single i dont believe you is a very good example of what i love about her voice. the way her voice breaks, it just sounds so amazing when shes singing a song like who knew and sober. she talks about her heart breaking and her voice is so raw, you can hear the pain in her voice. i definately think she has one of the best voices in music. her and kings of leon should do a song together. imagine what that song would like! so beautiful. i wrote a post about her here. its not very good coz its like one of the first posts i ever wrote but i guess its interesting to read.

it seems to be the year of girls but quietly sharing the success are the boy bands. indie has become massive as well as sweet voices and cute lyrics. i mean look at the success of kings of leon (hot voice but hate their music) so here is my top,im not sure how many, bands (in order of the pictures):

miike snow-they are the band of the genius music that has been amazing for the summer but so perfect for autumn. the voices, the melodies, all their music is really beautiful.
hockey-theyre more commercial but dead catchy with songs that stay in your head ALL day!
mumford and sons-such a gorgeous band and marcus mumford (lead singer) has the most beautiful indie voice. theres such desperation and sweetness in that voice like when he says 'ive really fucked it up this time, didnt i my dear?' you can tell hes been there but theres such innocence in that voice. hes what gary lightbody from snowpatrol tries to do. just innocent but not naive or ignorant. its hard to explain just listen to little lion man!
the big pink-im sure youve heard dominoes which is so great because they truly embrace their totally english accent. it was so revolutionary when arctic monkeys did this and then it got boring but the big pink are less posh and theyve got way stronger accents. they make me very proud to be british!
boys like girls-just for their name i love them! its so boyish and cant be bothered! like hockey they are just great to sing along to. not great lyrics just great songs with good beats. mindless sort of music.
bombay bicycle club-these guys are really the meaning of indie boy bands! if you wanted an example of the genre youd choose them. so indie and sweet. really sweet guys as well

this is all the weird and wonderful music i loved when i was younger. some of it i completely refuse to listen to now its so crap but some of it i still love!

as ive got older ive totally fallen in love with indie english music and dubstep. i love good lyrics, a beautiful voice and an amazing melody. all songs i like have at least one of those and really when i was younger i just liked anything with a beat and a few slow songs.

just wanted to talk random obsessions. im totally and utterly head over heels in love with the name leighton meester. i like her as a person but her name! id die for that name! im also obsessed with socks, that was subtle, the colour red, english tea and scottish accents.

love to know youre random obsessions and the music you loved when you were younger. have a good night and sleep well x

these pictures are of:

1. miike snow. there isnt much pictures of them and the mainly use their logo thing ( picture no. 4) so people know who they are. they have such amazing lyrics and some new ideas about music and how to play their beautiful melodies. the first single from these guys was animal which has some sick remixes! the next songle was black and blue which has such clever lyrics and they said its basically about boredom so its my kind of music! their new single is gonna be sylvia which is a really beautiful song. its much more slow than the first two but equally amazing. the live version is beautiful.
2. just had to have a florence picture in the post! i know ive used the picture before but tht was like two months ago and none of you remember, do you? legendary album. ive talked way too much about her on this blog! just check out some old posts!
3. even though the killers are the only music i really play in my cd player, i never really talk about that much. ive loved the killers since they first started in about 2003. me and my sister were obsessed with somebody told me! we always used to sing that! good memories! when i was younger i used to like the killers, eminem, keane, coldplay, britney, black eyed peas and kylie! i still like most of them but not in the same way. when i was younger id just hear a song i liked and listen to it over and over. i didnt care about the voice or the lyrics or about the band. i used to listen to music just for musics sake! that doesnt even make sense but you get what i mean!

the lyrics are snowpatrols from their second album. i was very excited about this lyric when i bought the album two years ago coz i was going through this whole stupid emo phase and its such a dark lyric and song and is called headlights on dark roads. definitely check out that album. it really grew on me and was really my album for last winter.
the pictures are to go with the lyrics so very vampirish and dark. just very wintery. all my posts seem to be about the weather at the moment! im so boring!
so whats been happening in my life:
i watched desperately seeking susan which is so amazing. i cant really describe it, its just amazing in that classic way that could never be replicated.
im currently eating cookie dough ben and jerrys and its pure heaven! its buy one get one free at sainsburys so we stocked up on ice cream and its just beautiful.
i dont feel like you guys know me that well so i heres a random list of stuff about me:
1. i have cataracts in both my eyes that ive always had. i was just born with them but they dont really bother me so i havent got them removed
2. im such a massive britney fan. i dont think i talk about britney on this blog enough. shes not my guilty pleasure coz i just dont believe you should feel guilty about what music you like but i know she is for a lot of people.
3. im in love with the name alfie. i checked out the meaning on wikipedia and it means something like one who is couseled by elves. my friend doesnt think its a good idea to have a kid called alfie coz there are like no normal alfies. im still sticking by my love for the name at alfie. im very stubborn about matters like this.
4. waterloo road is on tv tonight! im so excited! im actually hate tv but there are a few things i have to watch every week like mock the week
5. im thinking of cutting my hair really short like rihanna style.
6. my parents are divorced. did i ever mention that? its so unimportant to me coz they got divorced so long ago and it was such an uneventful divorce. my dad just moved out and went to live in a flat and they got a divorce. neither of them was dating anyone else and they both havent got remarried and i love only having one parent. my dad probably wouldn't let me do half the things i do but because he doesnt live with us he doesnt really tell me off or anything. he did used to try but then when my grandad died he got really depressed and since then he lets my mum have the final say on everything. i love having divorced parents and btw i am so mot traumatised by it all like everyone presumes i am.

this is my tribute to autumn but i think it looks more spring like. i dunno why but im suddenly in a very good mood! i think it might have something to do with having two pieces of melt in your mouth chocolate. utter heaven!
so heres whats been happening in the past few days...
on friday night me and a few girls went round to my good friends house and had so much fun! we were playing this great game called articulate and being the sick minded teenagers we are turned everything into something naughty! the whole game is you have to describe something and the other person has to guess what it is like i got 'a pawn' so i said 'something boys always watch on the internet' my friend obviously got it straight away!
and then last night i went babysitting with a friend and just spent a lot of time reading magazines and laughing! then we got back to her house really late and went to sleep listening to the killers latest album, day and age. its such a great album.
so thats been my weekend basically and today i was gonna go to town but i cant really be bothered. i need some new nail polish but ill just get some next week.
oh and this morning i was watching some live florence and muse and really they are both legendary. muse are proper genius! and i love their new single undisclosed desires. its just got some amazing lyrics.
btw the title lyrics are from snow patrols chasing cars. im such a massive fan of them. gary, the lead singer just has such a beautiful voice.

i think this lyric really explains the point of mini skirts. its a killers lyric from an amazing song of theirs called midnight show which is on their first album hot fuss

so just a few music pictures. thats marina and the diamonds at the top with the gorgeous lipstick, then a florence picture. im totally obsessed with her album. i think my favourite song is cosmic love which is soo beautiful. and the last picture is mumford and sons who not only make amazing music but are gorgeous. i think the thing i like about mumford and sons is their songs are so sweet and sincere.
i have been so busy at the moment. ive got my gcse maths exam on the 5th and 10th of november so ive had a ton of homework getting ready for that and then ive been organizing this play for school and now my english as teacher has given us our coursework! im not one happy bunny!
just wanna say a happy birthday to my friend rivka who was 16 yesterday and a few girls made her some badges including one saying 'LEGAL!' thats so great isnt it! she didnt wear it but its so funny!

i love brody (the guy with lauren above). really hes the sweetest guy on the hills. i dunno exactly what kind of story these pictures tell. i guess theyre all about beauty and they all sort of remind me of winter. but make youre own interpretation.
in school at the moment we are preparing a show for december and my friend is making a dance with eye of the tiger which is just such a classic song. i would love to do a dance to time is running out by muse but im doing the play so no dancing for me (im a rubbish dance so thats definitely a good thing!)
also if anyone english could help me that would be amazing coz i have to decide my a levels and i think i wanna do maths, physics, business studies and politics. it would be great to hear from someone whose done or is doing any of these subjects. the thing is i would love to work on the radio so then i should probably do media but its a really rubbish a level so anyone whose done that id love to know about that but also if media is useful. thanx a million and have a good night x

wohoo! look a song about a rebecca well actually 5 rebeccas. 5Rebbeccas is a song by the view which i only just found tonight by accident! but its so exciting coz there are so many songs with girls names in but this is the first song ive seen about a rebecca although the title is spelt weird. i dont know any rebeccas who spell their name like that. whatever this is just such an exciting moment. i feel like ive just won an award!

this is marina and the diamonds and not only is she beautiful she has the voice of an angel. sort of reminds me abit of regina specktor but more indie. check out i am not a robot. really good lyrics. she was on radio 1 last night and she admitted that when she was younger she would do anything to become a singer including auditioning for a boy band! also shes a die hard britney fan! love the girl!

you probably know for the work shes done with other artists but kidsister is going totally solo! she has so much attitude and her music, im not sure who to compare her to. shes very hiphop and a bit indie. just check her out!

i am back in manchester and looking tanned! this holiday i have truly been doing nothing except watching tv and reading all kinds of crap! so ive got loads to tell you guys! lets just do this in numbers otherwise its gonna go on forever

1. i know i should totally get over them coz they have been out for AGES but i am still lovin supernova by mr hudson and run this town by jay z. mtv dont play very good music and its all very old but hearing these songs, it was so exciting, the opening chords.. !!
2. i actually hate tv but there wasnt really much else to do so i was watching americas next top model, the hills, laguna beach and of course tons of vh1.
3. i read two very different books. i read plain truth by joudi picoult and it was very interesting and well written. its all about an amish girl being accused of murdering her baby. also about babies, i read heartbeat by danielle steel which was just a cute romance and it had a surprisingly simple storyline. not a great book but just beautifully mindless.
4. today taio cruz did a cover of little lion man which if you read my blog alot youll know i m totally in love with that song and the band mumford and sons. anyway the cover was actually really good so check out the interview and performance here. love to hear your opinion on it

i do love my hair coz of how thick it is but now, having it short, i have to straighten it all the time and also because my hair is so thick i cant get a fringe so it is quite annoying!

so big news!! i am off to gibraltar tomorrow for about a week and a half! i am very excited to get to wear my flip flops coz i never get to wear them here in manchester! i will try to post when im there but i will have to go over to my uncles which is a bit of a pain so i will probably do only like 1 post. im so excited for the beach! hopefully ill get a bit of a tan but we ll see!
so onto music since i seem to be posting about everything but music at the moment!

1. im a big fan of forever young by alphaville. theres an amazing video of oc clips with that song in the background and its just so beautiful so when i heard the song by jay z and mr hudson young forever i got so excited! i love it! the original is definately better but if you dont compare it to the original then its actually quite beautiful.

2. example is finally in the charts with watch the sun come up which is just such a beautiful song in the same way as sweet disposition by temper trap. just reminds you of a summer love.

3. currently touring with florence, who is actually finishing her tour tonight, is the xx. their music is just really beautiful in the similar way to the songs i mentioned just above. i seem to be really into these sort of slow, sweet songs!

seth and summer in the oc, lana and clark in smallville, juno (love this kiss!), hayley and nathan (they are the only reason i watch one tree hill, i hate chad michael murray with a passion), 500 days of summer (best indie film of the year!), ethan and someone who isnt silver on 90210 (my sister loves this program and i never watch it but the other day i watched 5 minutes of it and totally fell in love with ethan and silver but i couldnt find any good pictures of them together so this will do for now! im still trying to hunt one down) so finally ive done this cute couples post! ive been meaning to do it since this wheels on fire did it (check out the blog here. lots of film photography and if you like the sort of films i do then youll love it) when i started to look for pictures i realised that all the couples i like dont really spend alot of time kissing or looking adorable, they fight alot and have quite an abusive sort of relationship and usually end up breaking up hence the title (britney lyrics from everytime) i really do have bad taste in men!
i just had an immense lunch of:
two pieces of toast with chocolate spread, 3 mini cheese and courgette muffins, a muller corner yoghurt, some yoghurt covered fruit flakes and a cup of mint tea!
i think thats the biggest lunch ive ever had and it was wonderful!
i went shopping just before and bought:
three pairs of knickers in topshop, a flowery blow dryer, some kind of balm from toni and guy to sort out my hair and make it managable, some heat protective spray (also from toni and guy).
maturally my hair has a ridiculous amount of volume so i think im gonna straighten it for the weekend and use the balm to leave it natural for school!
wow! this is a long post! and nothing about music! oh well! hope youve enjoyed youre weekend x

im totally obsessed with black and white! just so beautiful and classic! so BIG news! WOOHHOOH i cut my hair off! well its like a long bob but for me its cutting it all off! i just washed it and it was so quick, like my hair had NO knots! there was nothing to wash! so i love it! it looks like the first picture but without a fringe! im really annoyed i cant post a picture of it but i dont have a camera but i was speaking to my friend and she said i can borrow hers so when i get round to it you will get to see my beautiful face! school was so much fun today coz everyone was SO shocked about my hair so it was lots of fun shocking everyone! i look alot my mum now but thats not a bad thing coz shes very beautiful (although i am a bit biased!)
so a few random thoughts
1. lovin the name leighton at the moment. id never really thought about it but now its like on my top 5 names list (i dont actually have a list but you get my point!)
2. lost prophets song its not the end of the world is so great. they really make the best songs to sing along to at the moment.
3. on the nick grimshaw, he has been playing his record of the week called secret lover by private (the egyptain lover remix) and its really grown on me. its so sleazy, the kind of song you feel the need to shower after and normally i HATE these sort of songs with a passion but this song is So sleazy that it ends up being not so sleazy, just sort of funny! its hard to explain but check it out.
4. please venus by the golden silvers. just a very pretty quirky song.
5. sweet dispition by temper trap. is this song in 500 days of summer? it sounds so familiar. im sure its in a film. please leave a comment if you know and btw its a beautiful song. definately my latest music obsession.

red hair is soo in right now and im totally lovin it! but it has to be red not ginger. im thinking of using henna in my hair coz i dont wanna try any harsh products on my hair. so im getting my hair cut on thursday and its soo scary. its gonna be like the scariest rollercoaster ever but even worse! its gonna be very traumatic. im giving my hair to a cancer charity and they use the hair to make a wig for a cancer patient so its not a pointless haircut but its gonna be very hard. ive got to have 30cm off which means instead of my hair being past my waist its gonna be like a bob! its gonna be very different but thats what i want. its like a new beginning. im gonna look so different. its very scary and exciting!
so onto music, im lovin pink floyd another brick in the wall. its legendary, my friend likes singing it when shes getting told off in school ('we dont need no education')! as well as having legendary lyrics its also really tuneful and beautiful.
paramore are so fun and hayleys hair (last picture) is sooo cool! im lovin ignorance at the moment so i wrote the lyrics on my hand so everytime i look at my hand i see 'ignorance is your new best friend'. go paramore! just good american emo pop.

i just love these guys at the moment. im totally addicted to little lion man.

hes just so beautiful isnt he. i dont normally like male models but with that adorable face and the beautiful tattoos, im on love with the guy! and the best thing is i have absolutely no idea what his name is but im totally not bothered! however if you do know who he is then id love to know.

i used to be totally obsessed with lily allen but now ive moved on and as im sure ive mentioned im totally obsessed with florence. lily allen just has such great lyrics that all girls can really relate to and she has such a great fashion sense although i dunno how she can walk in some of the heels she wears. she also has such a beautiful voice. sounding so innocent and sweet and her songs are so heartbreaking like stabs in the heart by a little innnocent girl. thats a horrible image!

i just love her. one of the best faces in film.

last night i watched my best friends wedding with my sister and it really is the king of rom-coms. like you can tell all rom-coms now are loosely based around the same formula as my best friends wedding. a great film but im so desperate to watch when harry met sally again, i NEED to borrow that film again!
