the maccabees are adorable! i just love these guys. they write amazing music and i just love these guys!

sorry im not into it today but i have lots to tell you!:

1. a few of my friends came round off cut my hair! i have waist length black hair which is gorgeously curly! i love my hair its really thick and big and so much fun! i dont do anything to it. im very lucky to have easy hair that just does as its told. it has natural curls which dont fall out! i love my hair and anyway my friends cut me some front layers and a bit of length off because the ends were looking dead!
2. right now im listening to battlefield by jordin sparks. i love this song! when you learn the words its so much fun to sing along! i love how she gets so into these meaningless lyrics!
3. i painted my nails yesterday and i love them! i painted them black and then put red on top so they look amazing but very emo coz i have like no nails! i love typing when i have painted nails!
4. eminems song beautiful is amazing! the lyrics, the melody, him! i love that guy! its so beautiful i was nearly crying (although i think that might have been PMS!)

okay now i have heard battlefield 4 times over (its on repeat!) so ill leave you!

typepad

this is a totally unmusic related post but anyway i was reading a blog yesterday on typepad and the girl had decided to move to blogger. she said she was doing it because on typepad you can see exactly who is checking out your blog and she had got way to obsessed about it so she was moving. so as i was reading that i thought how cool!
i wanna see whos coming on my blog but then i was thinking to myself actually who comes on the blog is not important! what is important is to keep writing and enjoy doing what im doing so i have made the decision to stay, you blogger lovers will be happy to know!

lily allen

lily allen is just amazing! i have been into her for a long time now. she started out really because of her myspace and then started realising stuff a few years ago. she writes amazing lyrics such as:

"I'm not trying to say that I'm smelling of roses but when will we tire of putting shit up our noses... It's meant to be fun and this just doesn't feel right... So you've got a prescription, and that makes it legal. I find those excuses overwhelmingly feeble… The kids are in danger, they're all getting habits. From what I can see, everyone's at it."

These are some of the lyrics to her song everyones at it. its some of her more stuff and still genius. when her new album came out i was terrified of hating it as i had so many expectations because i loved the first album however the new album sounds great although i havent bought it yet(yes im still skint!).

i love how english she is and she makes lots of references to english culture in her songs like, for example, LDN.

she has a gorgeous voice and a lot of talent and some of her songs are so soothing (if you dont listen to the sinister lyrics!) on her first album there is a song called everythings just wonderful which is a song hat has a beautiful melody and heart breaking lyrics. she talks about how twisted the world is and how 'I wish I could change the ways of the world, make it a nice place'. shes so talented so i advise you to check out her albums as her singles dont do her justice!

friendly fires

although they havent done so amazing in the charts most english music listeners have heard their stuff which gets loads of radio time! whether its paris or jump in the pool or skeleton boy (all AMAZING songs!) its worth checking out their live performances which, besides being amazing to listen, are amazing to watch because they all look so comfortable on the stage with the lead singers cute dancing and their quirky way of dressing!

their songs are great and really chilled out. just really enjoyable to listen to! i have their new album and havent got round to listening to it but im sure that is going to stay in my player for months! x

hey there

just a short post on a band i dont know a hell of a lot about! but i am always singing their song our velocity in physics! every time the teacher says velocity i always automatically start singing that song!

there are loads of songs like that and it can get very annoying like every time i ask my friendwhat time is it? she says 'summertime. its our vacation....' which is from high school musical! its very annoying as ive started doing it as well!

this woman has changed so much from the sweet innocent 16 year old she was. for one thing shes definitely no innocent! i dont think i need to tell you how she has changed as every move she makes is front page news! but i want to talk about her music.

i have grown up to her music. hearing her songs where ever i go. her music is so famous so i dont really need to advise you what songs to listen to but i just want to say how much i love her music. it always makes me smile and i always have to sing along! she doesnt have an amazing voice or amazing lyrics but her music always reminds me of happy times! anyway youve got to love her! its like calling a baby ugly. its just plain mean not to like her!

evanesence

at the moment im just remembering all those 'emo' bands i used to love obsessivly so now i have to talk about the queen of emo, amy lee from evanescence. she has such a beautiful voice! and shes one of these people who sounds so much better live. but there just seems something ungenuine about her. maybe its just me. she has written some amazing song like going under and lithium. some of the best lyrics ever are in lithium. check it out:

my CHEMICAL romance!

my chemical romance are one of those bands who are really such twats. they think they are so cool and gothic but they arent raw enough. they dont mean what they say. those lyrics could be written by someone else. and they are so american and gushy it irritates me greatly. however, in spite of all of this, they have still managed to make 2 incredible songs, welcome to the black parade and teenagers. like jordin sparks they write crap lyrics. but the music is incredible! i go around singing the whole time 'ill caaarry on, ill carry ooon, ill carry on......'! can i also just say that gerard way looks best with the white blonde hair! it just suits him better! eminem also looked better with his fake blonde hair. when i saw his him on the jonathan ross show i was soo upset that hed cut it all off! so lesson of the day: fake blonde is sometimes the best way to go!

jordin sparks

jordin sparks is one of the few singers i like despite the bad lyrics! i am such a lyrics girl its ridiculous! i never really thought much of her music until i saw the music video for no air and just loved how she and chris brown got SOO into the singing it was ridiculous! check out the video on youtube. anyway me and my cousin spent ages standing in front of a mirror and singing that song like they do in the video! try it its so much fun! i just love how she tries to sing those crap lyrics like they actually mean something which reminds me of leona lewis (where the hell did she go?!). every move jordin sparks makes in her music career is so calculated. you can imagine a load of men in suits sitting around a table deciding what she is going to say in her next interview! shes like the opposite if happy-go-lucky!

muse

my love for muse is so big its ridiculous! you have to check out there music to understand why i adore these guys so much! they just play such original music and every song is a masterpiece! all their songs have so many diferent layers. after listening to them you will never listen to music in the same way again! the lyrics all the guitar! there are really no wors to describe these songs so ill keep this short. i am so proud that muse are english. its so nice that we like 'own' these guys! they make me proud to be british! if youve not heard them before check out, time is running out, plug in baby and starlight. thats a good place to start and go from there. you dont hear them much on the radio but lots of people know them from guitar hero. enjoy!

PINK

pink is amazing! i just love the woman! she has the exact opposite voice of dido. dido=pure, like an angel pink=raw, like shesshes breaking physically and emotionally. when she sings stuff like who knew, sober and please dont leave me you can hear the pain in her voice so much. it gets me everytime when she sings the line 'and i forgot to say about how beautiful you really are to me' in please dont leave me. her voice has just got better and better over time. when i was younger i loved just like a pill and who knew. i used to listen to who knew on repeat the whole time and wierdly im still not bored of it! her voice is just so much more raw at the moment its like someone had a good go at trying to break it but didnt, leaving a raw mess. sorry thats a horrible image! but you get what i mean. anyway i love pink and she has such a beautiful voice. listen out for her because whatever she comes up with next, its gonna be good!

snow patrol

This is a little posting by a massive snow patrol fan! the first song i loved of theirs is chasing cars (obviously!) i loved that song for a very long time and then i heard run and fell in love with that. for a long time i didnt listen to any of their other songs just those two but then (i cant remember exactly why) i bought their album eyes open and loved it (although not at first but thats a long boring story). that cd stayed in my player for months and i know most of those songs of by heart. that album is amazing! if your going to buy any album buy that one! i totally love it!

i also just bought final straw which is also a masterpiece but its still growing on me! anyway i will buy their new album when i have the money but as i said before im skint!

by the way check out the greys anatomy music video for chasing cars.it made me cry!

radio 1

just a quick post to talk about my love for radio 1. radio 1 is a radio station (98.9 FM) which you can tune into in the whole of the UK or you can listen via their website which there is link to on one of my lists at the side! they play mostly new music during the day but if you are into up-and-coming artists then check out the radio shows after 7 especially nick grimshaws show(a fellow Mancunian!) from 10-midnight every weekday night. check out their website for details. also they always have great coverage of all the festivals which i love!

my favourite DJ is Sara cox who does the weekend lie-ins! she has such a gorgeous voice she could get a job doing those haagen daaz adverts! she is also, despite eating all the time, absolutely gorgeous! i love radio 1!

florence and the machine

for this post i wanna talk about a relatively new band who are new to the whole top 40 thing. they are a band who are very dramatic and florence writes songs on gorgeous things! its very hard to explain them but check out some of their live performances if you want an introduction to them. their performance in Glastonbury was legendary (although i wasnt fortunate enough to be there!). their song kiss with a fist is one of the best songs ever written! so check them out.
also their new album is out which looks amazing but im too skint at the moment to buy it!

TATTOOS

do you know how much i love tattoos?! they are just gorgeous! i have drawn all over my wrists all the bands i love and its so amazing! id love to post pictures of my arms but its all way to complicated so instead here is a picture of a butterfly tattoo. i really want a butterfly tattoo on my back! my random musings! thats what i should have called my blog! the scarlett music lovers random musings!!! by the way dont ask about the name! i dont know what it means either i just love the sound of it! x

the killers

so i thought id leave it to tomorrow to do the post about the killers but then i realised i may not be able to write it tomorrow so let me tell you now
THE KILLERS

I first discovered the killers also at a very young age. probably at around 9 or 10 but im not sure. i LOVED their song somebody told me for a very long time and i didnt even know it was by them. a few years later i started to discover music again and i heard mr brightside and loved it because of the lyrics. they are just so tragic. after that i became utterly addicted to mr brightside and i started also listening to some of their other songs. i just love brandon flowers voices. i love how, like eminem, he has such a tuneful voice. its heaven to listen to! i have their 3 first albums but im just not very into their new stuff. i dont think its as creative or crazy as their others. my favourite album is sawdust which has been in my cd player for months now. its too good to change to something else!

i also think brandon flowers is totally adorable but i want this to be a music blog not a whose-rebecca-got-a-crush-on-now blog!

• the new noah and the whale song called blue skies is totally gorgeous and will totally be the cute song of the summer like their song last year five years time. i think everyone will love the song as it is so freaking summery and just makes you think of a picnic or a day at the seaside or of a fun summer romance! just enjoy

• the new dizzee rascal and calvin harris song called holiday which has some dreadful lyrics but the most gorgeous tune. its the summer now so i think everyone is a nice enough mood to ignore the dreadful lyrics and download it anyway so i think its a definite no.1! see you guys!!

Introduction and explanation to my eminem obsession

hey there my name is rebecca and this blog is all about my obsession with music old and new!

i cant be bothered for much of an introduction about myself but i will write about my main musical obsessions so my biggest obsession is with the great eminem

he really is a legend. let me explain why i love the guy. i first discovered him when i was about nine or ten when i would just listen to crap adio with crap rnb but then when i heard eminem i thought he was so much fun. he has fun with his music and his voice. at that innocent age i didnt know what a massive thing it was for him to be coming onto the scene him being white and all

so anyway as i got older i started really listening to the lyrics and i realised what a lyrical genius he is! so anyway now as ive got older i just love the guy more and more and im loving him being on the music scene again! lovin beautiful by the way. it really is one of the best songs hes ever written. listen out for the lyrics especially the one about 'hiding behind the tears of a clown'

hopefully ill write about the killers tomorrow but we'll see
