just had a weekend of singing along to eminem.. his new album recovery has come out and i havent had the time to go and buy it but im listening to it on we7. its epic!

love the way you lie, his song with rihanna is just amazing. that is gonna be a big song (title lyrics from that song). also love airplane, the b.o.b song with hayley williams. love the eminem remix. that is a great link to what im up to tomorrow! im off to prague on a school trip! im gonna be gone til friday.. its very exciting! and then im going to france in a few weeks with a few friends!

anyway back to music. glastonbury has been going on this weekend so i picked out some of my favourite pictures to share with you. i watched the muse set online which was amazing. ive never watched a whole set of theirs but now i see why people call them one of the best live bands. also watched the xx perform their remix of florence's you got the love with florence! ive never seen the xx perform but theyre just amazing.

im just loving music at the moment that just takes away your breath coz its so sad/beautiful. my favourite for that is the xx but also yellow by coldplay (thats where the title lyrics are from) also emilys heart by jamie t. you know a lot of eminems music sort of takes your breath away and your like this cant be for real. its so sad and beautiful. love it!

hey, some beautiful photography to enjoy.. photography is weirdly inspiring...

anyway i did really bad in some modules so yesterday was quite a horrible day getting those results back but now im okay. ive realised i need to be working alot harder and thankfully i can retake all of them in june.

my soundtrack yesterday was the xx album. last night i just listened to it on repeat. im so happy ive got the album FINALLY! also loving yellow by coldplay. ive never been particularly into it but im just currently obsessed with it oh and the title lyrics are from the goo goo dolls song iris. im dedicating it to my friend and her epic crush!

so here is my five favourite songs at the moment:

emilys heart- this is by jamie t and what a beautiful song! its so lazy and gorgeous.. im just in heaven when i listen to this. its very slow and its got this beautiful guitar.. i just love it. i can tell its not gonna do well in the charts but thats what i love about it. its quite simplistic but very clever

dry your eyes- i love this song by the streets. it honestly brings me near to tears which is funny considering the title!

stay too long- i love what plan b is doing at the moment and this song is just amazing. its got so much energy, so much urgency. i love that whole urgent sound like what arctic monkeys used to sound like. now theyre these celebs, their music just sounds a bit lazy. its really annoying coz there are so many artists who's first albums i love and then they come out with some new stuff and its good but nowhere near as good as their old stuff. well plan b is the exception and pink.

the pretender- obviously by the foo fighters. i love the energy of this song. its just immense!

crystalised- i think this is the new single by the xx. i bought this album and i just love it. all their songs are so slow and beautiful. the vocals are amazing.

currently obsessed with daniel by bat for lashes. i searched for bat for lashes on my blog and i havent ever talked about natasha. bat for lashes is basically what singer/songwriter natasha records under. her music has a sort of distant sound if that makes any sense. she reminds me a bit of the xx in the way she sings. its all quite intimate and beautiful.

okay now im listening to the xx, i am seriously in love with this band! its a running joke with my friend coz i love them and she absolutely hates them! VCR is just amazing.

nobody ever had a dream round here but I don't really mind that it's starting to get to me

i dont talk about them enough but the killers are really such a massive part of my life. i know every song of every album, ive loved their music for about 6 or 7 years which really is a long time to like a band when youre only a teenager. i was speaking to my friend and even though we are the top of the school, i still feel like tiny! so back to the killers, i think 'my' song from all their albums has to be bones because it just reminds me of me! i can so relate to it coz im so bony but its more than the lyrics, its the way it starts i mean that beginning still gives me an adrenaline rush! its such a distinctive song that could never be compared to any other song. its so unique and so exciting and has such character. its also dramatic and does what i always do, just break out into song! im like a musical that doesnt stop! but i only sing like a line of a song and its usually off key so not really like a musical! the music video has everyone turning into skeletons and is just one of their best music videos, check it out here. if you wanna buy one of their albums definitely buy hot fuss, their first album, coz its so fresh and beautiful and impossible to describe!

so people i have news! okay its not dead exciting but i am going to london tomorrow for a long weekend just to shop! i only decided to go on sunday coz i wanted to go shopping but im fed up town in manchester so im going to london to go to oxford street (and to visit my dad and cousins). i sound so shallow minded! oh well people can judge me but im just gonna go and have fun! so i will be back on sunday and i wont be blogging when im there so sorry for not checking out your blogs but i really need to pack! lovin the view and the xx at the moment. have a good night x

pink has got one of the sexiest voices on this fucking planet! i am so jealous! its all throaty and exactly how you want your voice to sound when you have a sour throat. its hard to explain but her new single i dont believe you is a very good example of what i love about her voice. the way her voice breaks, it just sounds so amazing when shes singing a song like who knew and sober. she talks about her heart breaking and her voice is so raw, you can hear the pain in her voice. i definately think she has one of the best voices in music. her and kings of leon should do a song together. imagine what that song would like! so beautiful. i wrote a post about her here. its not very good coz its like one of the first posts i ever wrote but i guess its interesting to read.

btw check out her album funhouse which has some beautiful lyrics and melodies.

• the xx-they were supporting florence and what an amazing band! its a guy and girl singing and its all sort of whispery and beautiful. check out their remix of youve got the love.
• plan b- pieces the chasing status remix. its so amazing and beautiful and totally impossible to explain! just trust me on this one!
• just wanted to add two others to my list of artists i grew up with and that is nelly and maroon 5 oh and usher. i hate all of them now but there music just reminds me of good times so i will listen to it anyway!

her cds changer full of singers that are mad at their dad

i do love my hair coz of how thick it is but now, having it short, i have to straighten it all the time and also because my hair is so thick i cant get a fringe so it is quite annoying!

so big news!! i am off to gibraltar tomorrow for about a week and a half! i am very excited to get to wear my flip flops coz i never get to wear them here in manchester! i will try to post when im there but i will have to go over to my uncles which is a bit of a pain so i will probably do only like 1 post. im so excited for the beach! hopefully ill get a bit of a tan but we ll see!
so onto music since i seem to be posting about everything but music at the moment!

1. im a big fan of forever young by alphaville. theres an amazing video of oc clips with that song in the background and its just so beautiful so when i heard the song by jay z and mr hudson young forever i got so excited! i love it! the original is definately better but if you dont compare it to the original then its actually quite beautiful.

2. example is finally in the charts with watch the sun come up which is just such a beautiful song in the same way as sweet disposition by temper trap. just reminds you of a summer love.

3. currently touring with florence, who is actually finishing her tour tonight, is the xx. their music is just really beautiful in the similar way to the songs i mentioned just above. i seem to be really into these sort of slow, sweet songs!
